Special Nihari and Haleem 

Both of these are stews that are quite different but equally popular, they date back to the Mughal empire and are an accurate depiction of the rich heritage this city owns. Nihari is a dish of slow-cooked meat that is served with a dash of bone marrow, this delicacy is famous for its texture brought into it by a mixture of flour and unique spices, many restaurants in Karachi are reserved for this special dish only. Haleem, on the other hand, is slow-cooked for hours, which results in a thick sauce-like consistency, blending the flavors of spices, meat, barley, and wheat, it is served as a snack food in the bazaars of the city, it also is prepared extensively all over the world on religious occasions like in the days of Muharram.
